It’s been a busy year filled with new adventure and momentum. As the designer/owner of Rosey Skye, I’d like to take you on my journey by sharing a few highlights.

Collection News

Several pieces from the Pacific Seashore Collection have been selected for juried art shows this year. The Impish Octopus and Rejoicing Seastar pendants have been selected for fine art gallery shows in Marin, Santa Clara, and Monterey, CA. In addition, I have introduced a classic Pearl Collection of necklaces and bracelets with natural freshwater pearls from the South China Sea.

Upcoming Pieces

Along with bespoke wedding ring redesigns and other special requests, I’m also designing an art nouveau collection inspired by my own coastal garden that I plan to launch in Spring 2019. If you’ve visited my Instagram account, you know my love of flowers. I’m excited to share my one-of-a-kind designs adorned with gems you may not know, but will fall in love with just as I have. (Demantoid garnets are simply gorgeous).

Travel Journal

Tucson Gem Show is always a great show for me to acquire gems for my customers and find inspiration for my new collections. This year, I purchased antique diamonds and beautiful Montana sapphires in colors reminiscent of the galaxy — blues, greens, and yellows. I’ll be heading back to Tucson in February 2019 and would be happy to look for your perfect gem.

JCK Las Vegas was my next stop to see the latest trends in high jewelry design and discover new suppliers from around the world. And in keeping with my personal philosophy of fair trade, I attended the Chicago Responsible Jewelers Conference. This educational forum covered responsible independent miners, ethical practices, and on-going efforts to lift small mining communities from poverty.
